In a country that’s crazy about beauty queens, how do you mark milestones? With a beauty pageant, of course.
“Mayor Herbert Bautista recently announced the call for candidates for the Miss Quezon City Diamond Jubilee pageant,” reports Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Bautista said the pageant is part of the yearlong celebration of the city’s 75th founding anniversary. Here are the things that those who want to vie for the tiara must know:
1. The candidate must be a Filipino citizen, 18-24 years old, with at least one year residency in the city.
2. Applications are accepted until June 30 at the City Administrator’s Office at city hall; EPWMD Office at the Annex Building; Novaliches District Center in Barangay Sta. Monica, and all barangay centers citywide.
3. Schedule of activities
Screening of all applicants – July 5
Elimination round – August 9
Coronation night – Septemper 13, 8pm, at the AFP Theater in Camp Aguinaldo
4. The winner will get PHP200,000; 1st runner-up, PHP150,000; 2nd runner-up, PHP100,000; and 3rd runner-up PHP75,000.
