“A fire hit a shanty area in Barangays Baesa and Bahay Toro in Quezon City early Friday, Nov 15, gutting 150 houses and leaving between 300 to 400 families homeless,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com. The fire broke out at around 1258 am and was declared out at 455 am.
The report revealed that Angelita Omides, 57, died after she was trapped at the fourth floor of their house. A few others were reported injured.
The report likewise indicated that “some firefighters had a hard time penetrating the area because of narrow alleys.” According to fire officials, faulty electrical wiring may have caused the blaze.
