QC eyes 5 new national high schools

Let’s hope this gets done sooner rather than later.

“Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has certified as urgent six measures that will formally ask the Congress to approve the creation of five new national high schools in the city’s fifth district,” reports Janvic Mateo in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “Bautista certified as urgent the measures that seek the creation of national high schools in Nagkakaisang Nayon, Gulod, West Fairview, Kaligayahan, and Bagbag.”

The move is in preparation for the K-12 program of the Department of Education (DepEd), which is expected to result in the need for additional classrooms by 2016.
