After several Quezon City councilors announced that they want surprise inspections conducted on water refilling stations, how much more of a “surprise” could it be?
After reading Chito A. Chavez’s report in Manila Bulletin that the councilors “have asked the city government to dispatch teams to do surprise inspections in water refilling stations,” many business owners are most likely scrambling to make sure their areas are in top shape.
According to QC 3rd District Councilor Allan Benedict Reyes, his office “has received complaints over the practice of unscrupulous groups who are passing off regular drinking water as purified, distilled or mineral water to the detriment of the consumers.”
Moreover, there have also been reports that, in order to increase profit, “some water refilling stations rarely (if ever) change their filters.”
If that’s really the case, then QC residents should be angry at the guilty parties. This kind of sin isn’t easily washed away.
