QC councilor calls for more trash bins

Will this get rid of litterbugs?

“Quezon City councilor Karl Edgar Castelo of the 5th district has pushed for the approval of a measure that will make it mandatory for operators or administrators of malls, parks and playgrounds to install separate trash bins for recyclable and non-recyclable garbage.” reports Jeannette I. Andrade in Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Under Castelo’s proposed measure, violators will be “fined PHP5,000 and issued environmental violation tickets by the local environmental protection and waste management department, which is to be tapped as the primary ordinance enforcer.”
