Sometimes karma works relatively fast.
At around 1:30am on Sun, Jul 17, a 54-year-old taxi driver picked up for male passengers at Philcoa in Quezon City. The men asked the driver to take them to Don Antonio Heights.
As the cab went though Commonwealth Avenue, one of the men asked the taxi driver to pull over because he had to pee. As soon as the cabbie stopped, though, the men declared robbery.
“The men dragged the taxi driver to the back seat and one of them took over the steering wheel. The other suspects tied the victim’s hands with packaging tape and then blindfolded him before they took all his earnings and a cellular phone. The suspects also took his clothes and left him naked along Camaro Street in Barangay Fairview,” reports Melnie Jimena on Journal Online.
On Mon, Jul 18, in follow-up operation, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Special Operations Unit spotted the cab along San Mateo Road. They flagged down the vehicle, but the men on board fired shots at them. Thus, the cops had to fire back.
Three of the men were killed while one of their alleged cohorts escaped.
