A public school teacher was arrested here during a buy-bust operation Friday on allegations she was selling illegal drugs.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested Kristine Deluao after she allegedly sold drugs to a PDEA asset who posed as a buyer.

A sachet of suspected “shabu” was also recovered from the 43-year-old teacher.

Deluao, who has been teaching at Digos City National High School for 14 years, also tested positive for illegal narcotics.

Noli Nephi Dimaandal, spokesperson of PDEA Region 9, said Deluao is second on the agency’s priority list of drug pushers.

“She has been under surveillance for a month. She was caught while selling one sachet of shabu worth P1,000,” Dimaandal said in local dialect.

The suspect, who refused to be interviewed, will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PDEA will also recommend the filing of administrative charges against the suspect before the Department of Education to have her removed from service.
