This girl’s got some major talent.
Twitter user Ciara Gan (@ciaragan) posted a now-viral post on Monday sharing how she sewed and painted her own gown for her graduation ball in the swanky Shangri-La Hotel at the Fort in Taguig City on Friday.
“I painted over 80 flowers, sewed + stoned my dress with my mama and designed the whole thing myself!” she tweeted.
In the first two photos, she shares the process of how the floral emerald gown was created. In another two photos, she’s seen strutting her creation at the ball.

Gan told Coconuts Manila through a Twitter message that she wanted to make her own gown because she likes “trying as many things as possible.”
The 17-year-old senior high school STEM graduate from Colegio San Agustin in Makati City also shared that she fixed up her “disaster” of a prom dress last year.
She said her mom suggested that they make this year’s gown together.
“Since I know how to sew, I thought ‘why not?’ I could save money and it was my last event in high school that I’d be able to dress up.”
While the gown looks totally professional, Gan said this was her first time to create a dress.
“This is my first time to make my own dress from scratch,” she told Coconuts.
“I conceptualized it (the gown) for around a month (including drafts and cloth) and I made the dress for a week and painted for five days.”
“All the materials, me and my mom handled all of that!” she shared. “So in total, [It took] around 2 weeks for [me to make and finish] the gown.”
The post had over 77,000 retweets and 357,000 likes as of this article’s posting. Netizens totally loved it and some even asked Gan to design gowns for them.
