This is what you get when you want a quick way out of your thesis.
“Police warned students who paid for their thesis to unscrupulous individuals through online after a graduating student was victimized by the modus operandi of a programmer in Mandaluyong City,” reports Arlene Rivera on People’s Journal.
The victim, a student of Rizal Technological University, sought police assistance after an online advertiser promising to do theses as a service failed to deliver the output, and still had the gall to ask for payment.
Police lured the suspect in an entrapment, where the victim agreed to pay P9,000 on top of the initial payment of P4,000. The suspect was identified as Jenny Rose Singueco.
The victim, a computer programming student, looked online for someone to do her thesis. She and her partner found the suspect advertising her services on the online market Sulit.com.ph.
Singueco, who is detained at the police precinct, will face charges of robbery and extortion.
The student, we surmise, might be thinking of a good reason to tell her professor what happened to her thesis. Try telling the professor, “the dog ate your homework.” That usually does the trick.
