Some time after the Philippine Airlines (PAL) plane carrying Pope Francis took off from Tacloban Airport, another aircraft ran into some trouble.

“A private plane lost control when it tried to take off from the Tacloban Airport on Sat, Jan 17,” reported Johnson Manabat on dzMM.

ANC (via its Facebook page) later revealed: “Initial reports say 11 government officials were on board the plane that encountered problems at the Tacloban airport.”

Ambulances sped to where the plane had stopped. ANC added: “All passengers, including Cabinet members Sec. Paquito Ochoa and Sec. Sonny Coloma were deemed safe.”
