Prisoner who escaped from Bicol jail surrenders in QC

Sometimes their conscience kicks in.

“On Tuesday, Nov 12, Rolly Cabaltera, who escaped from a Bicol jail farm while awaiting judgment on a rape case against him, surrendered to the police in Quezon City,” reports Reinir Padua in The Philippine Star.

Apparently, Cabaltera was urged to surrender by his own mother, who feared for his life. cabaltera had broken out of Bicol’s Tinangis Jail and Penal Farm along with other inmates last Oct 30. They had somehow managed to saw off the iron grills of their detention cell.

Cabaltera first went to TV5, which facilitated his surrender to the police.
