One of the primary suspects in the death of University of Santo Tomas (UST) student Horacio Castillo III surrendered today.
John Paul Solano, a reported member of the Aegis Juris fraternity, surrendered to UST Civil Law Dean Nilo Divina at the office of Senator Panfilo Lacson on Friday afternoon.
Solano initially said that he found the bloodied body of Castillo in the wee hours of Sunday on a pavement in Tondo, Manila and brought it to the Chinese General Hospital.
But Solano, who is also a UST law student and a part-time medical technologist, has been tagged as a primary suspect in the death of Castillo after police supposedly found inconsistencies in his testimony.
The 22-year-old Castillo told his parents that he would attend the welcoming rites of the Aegis Juris fraternity at the UST campus late Saturday but never made it home.
On Thursday, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed that Ralph Trangia, another primary suspect in the hazing death of Castillo, left for Taiwan last Tuesday.
