Presidential Security Group member nabbed for ATM scam

You would think that he’d know better.

“At around 11:30pm on Friday, Feb 21, Raphael Marcial was arrested at the ATM booth of EastWest Bank on Chino Roces Avenue Extension in Barangay Magallanes, Makati after policemen in a patrol car noticed his parked motorcycle had no license plates,” reports Christian V. Esguerra in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

It turns out that not having a license plate on his motorcycle was the least of his offenses.

The report revealed that police seized nine ATM cards bearing different names and a number of “blank” cards from Marcial. He also had a scanner, which was allegedly intended to copy data from ATM cards.

According to Presidential Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma, the group commander of the PSG, Commodore Raul Ubando, has already issued a relief order against Marcial.

By the way, Marcial is a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 2008.
