It’s not completed yet, but once it is, it will officially be the longest boulevard in the country.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently in the middle of construction work on a boulevard named after President Cory Aquino.

A press release posted on the Palace website says that the structure is seen “to support the tourism industry in Bicol Region.”

Five contracts are being undertaken by DPWH Region 5 along the President Cory Aquino Boulevard, which will be the longest boulevard in the country when completed.

It will span approximately 8.7 kilometers, stretching from the towns of Daet in Mercedes to Talisay in Camarines Norte.

Earlier this month, the DPWH reported that they had accomplished 58% of the programmed projects, completing 5.017 kilometers.

The remaining sections are awaiting future funding in the amount of PHP265 million. This includes the construction of two bridges.
