PRC postpones CPA licensure exams set in May

Is this for real?

“The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has issued a resolution indefinitely postponing the licensure examination, which was scheduled on May 11, 12, 18 and 19, upon the recommendation of the Board of Accountancy,” reports Mayen Jaymalin in The Philippine Star.

Hold your breath for the reason.

The report revealed that according to the PRC, the Board of Accountancy, which is supposed to have seven members, has only two active members.

Under the law, the attendance of four members of the board is required to constitute a quorum and officially transact business.

As such, the PRC said the licensure examination “is postponed until after the appointment of new members of the board.”

If you’re a new graduate who’s itching to earn more for yourself or for your family as soon as you get your license, this is a total WTF situation…especially since there’s no definite date for this to be resolved.
