The Manila Police District (MPD) will be filing an additional case of homicide on top of initial robbery charges against Alexander Ogdamina, the man who robbed a noodle vendor last week, after his victim died in hospital on Wednesday.

Ogdamina became infamous after he shot vendor Samson Bautista at close range in Manila’s Port Area, then blamed the victim for the violence that befell him. The vendor was shot in the neck after he refused to give his bag, which contained his earnings for the day.

Instead of showing remorse, the 36-year-old robber said that Bautista had very little money and that he should have just turned it over instead of resisting.

The 41-year old noodle vendor was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center in Manila. He died while being treated at the hospital eight days after he was shot.

Manila Bulletin reports that the jobless robber has admitted to using illegal drugs. The suspect is currently detained at the MPD and faces penalties of reclusion perpetua or life imprisonment if convicted.
