The police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized 3kg of illegal drugs hidden under packs of dried mango in a raid Wednesday evening.

The authorities discovered the haul during a raid in a house in Barangay Moonwalk, Parañaque after being tipped off by police sources. There were no drug suspects found during the raid, reports ABS-CBN News.

Authorities suspect that the house is being used as the warehouse of the Taiwanese national who was nabbed for a big-time drug transaction last week.

Chien Teho Chang attempted to conceal PHP250-million worth of shabu (methamphetamine) inside styrofoam boxes topped with dried fish.

“Practically it was the same method of concealment except they used dried mangoes. It would appear that this house is being used by the syndicate as their warehouse considering the smell of dried fish,” said PDEG chief, Senior Supt. Graciano Mijares.

Authorities are tracking down the drug group behind the operations.
