This is no laughing matter.
“Marikina Police have arrested Mark Bercilla, 30, who is one of four suspects in the mauling and shooting of a teen grandson of comic-impersonator Willie Nepomuceno and his three friends,” reports InterAksyon.com. He faces grave threats and frustrated murder charges.
At around 3am on Thursday, Jan 9, Bercilla and three others reportedly shot at Sean Gabriel Nepomuceno, 16; Angello Abistado, 19; Franc Rayven Jocson, 17; and Sherwin Jerome Maralit, 19. The boys—who had just finished playing games at a computer shop—were eating at a burger stand in Barangay Marikina Heights.
The report said the incident was “an apparent case of mistaken identity, as the suspects kept asking Sean and his friends, “Kayo ba ‘yun?” The shocked boys didn’t know what to do. Witnesses say Bercilla and his companions were actually looking for another group of boys who also hang out in the area.
The report revealed that Sean sustained three gunshot wounds—in the liver, intestine, and pelvic bone, with one piercing his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital, got operated on, and is said to be in stable condition now. Jocson was also injured but he was treated and discharged right away. Abistado and Maralit didn’t sustain any critical injuries.
