POEA to OFWs: Get your polio shots before you leave PH

It’s always better to be safe than sorry. (Plus, this should apply to all travelers and not just OFWs.)

“The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) recently advised overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) to have themselves immunized against polio before heading for other countries,” reports Samuel Medenilla in Manila Bulletin.

POEA Administrator Hans Cacdac issued the statement after World Health Organization (WHO) tagged 10 countries with an influx of polio cases.

The affected countries include Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Israel, Syria, Ethiopia, Somalia, Cameroon, and Equitorial Guinea.
