Senator Grace Poe has thumbed down the idea of running with Vice President Jejomar Binay in the 2016 elections, citing their differences.Binay’s daughter, Makati Rep. Abigail Binay, said early this week that the Vice President looks to a Binay-Poe tandem as “ideal.”

But Poe said that at least for now, she does not see herself being Binay’s running mate.

“Sa istilo ng paninilbihan, marahil ay talagang magkaiba kami (We are really different when it comes to our style of service),” Poe, a close second to Binay in presidential preference surveys, told reporters on Wednesday.

She added, “Naniniwala kasi ako na katapatan at pagiging bukas para mabusisi ng ating mga taumbayan ay napakahalaga sa iyong trabaho. May mga pagkakaiba kami ukol doon (I believe honesty and the openness to be scrutinized by the public are very important in your job. We have differences when it comes to that).”

In an interview on Monday, Poe rebuked Binay’s statement that the country cannot afford to have inexperienced leaders, saying honesty matters more.

She also said Binay should face and answer the corruption issues against him, including allegations of hidden wealth

Poe has not yet made a decision about 2016. But along with her rising survey numbers, reports have been circulating of her being paired off with different personalities, including Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Senator Francis Escudero, and former Senator Panfilo Lacson.
