PNR’s ‘life’ gets extended

It’s not going away.

“President Noynoy Aquino has signed into law a priority measure extending the corporate life of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) for another 50 years,” reports Genalyn D. Kabiling in Tempo.

The report explained that “under Republic Act (RA) No. 10638, the State-owned PNR will be able to continue the operation of the mass commuter rail system in Luzon until 2064.”

It turns out that prior to the passage of the new law, the corporate life of PNR is due to expire on June 20 this year.
