Authorities of the state-owned Philippine National Railways (PNR) confirmed that a train playing the Alabang route had derailed from the tracks earlier today at the Don Bosco crossing, between the Pasay Road and EDSA stations.

In a statement, the PNR said that the train was running at 20 kilometers per hour when it had gone sideways from the track and stopped immediately.

The train was carrying 400 passengers at the time, all of whom were unharmed.

PNR employees reportedly said that the train had gone awry after a mechanism used to switch railroad tracks in the area flicked.

Authorities are currently investigating the incident in order for the PNR to resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
