The Philippine National Railway (PNR) aims to resume its operations on Jun 15, 2015.
In a Manila Bulletin report by Paulo Cuento, it was revealed that “on top of the repairs they did to the trains and the railway, they will also add a new rail car that will inspect the integrity of the track before daily trips begin.”
PNR likewise plans “to ask the budget department for an additional PHP300 Million to support daily expenses of the train.”
The report recalled that “one month has passed since the derailment of the PNR train.” PNR management had found out that rail parts were being stolen by informal settlers and then sold to junk shops.
