PNP to take immediate action on missing children

Acting on the spate of kidnapping of minors during the last few weeks, Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Alan Purisima ordered that the 24-hour waiting period for missing persons be waived for cases of missing children.

Purisima said that a study was conducted regarding missing children which concluded that action should be taken immediately.

As a response to the recent kidnappings, the National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) also created Task Force Sagip Anghel.

The task force is tasked to handle cases of missing children, most of whom were under the age of 10 years old, The Philippine Star reported.
