“The Philippine National Police has allocated PHP21 million to hire the services of security guards to man the gates and offices of Camp Crame, its national headquarters located at Quezon City,” reports Marlon Ramos in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
PNP Director General Alan Purisima explained that they’re doing this so the PNP personnel doing non-security-related jobs—such as those manning the Camp Crame gates—could be sent out to “improve police visibility on the streets.”
So, the security guards will protect the headquarters while cops will patrol the metro.
