Again, we ask: Would we get the same service from the police?
“The Philippine National Police (PNP) clarified on Tuesday, Feb 11, that it has not deployed close-in security for comedian Vhong Navarro,” reports Aaron B. Recuenco in the Manila Bulletin.
However, the PNP did admit that they’ve provided “police visibility in areas personally requested by the Navarro camp when he sought police assistance amid threats allegedly from the group of businessman Cedric Lee.”
Senior Supt. Reuben Theodore Sindac, chief police information officer, explained, “They were the ones who [pointed out] the areas where police presence is needed.” These areas, as he revealed, enjoy 24/7 police patrol.
However, Sindac “refused to divulge the areas Navarro cited to the police.”
