PNP to buy genetic DNA analyzer

The Philippine National Police is going hi-tech!

If you’re a fan of the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) series, you’re probably familiar with the genetic DNA analyzer.  The police force has earmarked a budget of over PHP50 million for one of these and other new equipment. A genetic DNA analyzer is reportedly worth PHP40 million, while the computerized desktop polygraph system, which they are planning to get six of, will cost roughly about PHP12.117 million.

The new equipment will help the PNP Crime Laboratory speed up the resolution of crime cases through DNA testing. The PNP is welcoming bids from suppliers of these pieces of equipment, ABS CBN News reported.
