PNP on alert for Duterte and Robredo inauguration

It’s the Big Day!

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is on heightened alert for the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President-elect Leni Robredo on Thu, Jun 30.

“PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said Task Force Panunumpa 2016 will take the lead in ensuring security at the separate inaugural rites of Duterte and Robredo. The task force is led by PNP chief directorial staff, Deputy Director General Francisco A. Uyami Jr,” reports ABS-CBN News.

Duterte’s inauguration will be held at the Rizal Hall in Malacañan Palace, where some 600 guests are expected. According to incoming Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) chief Martin Andanar, the event will run from 10:30am to around 3pm.

Meanwhile, Robredo’s inauguration will be at the Quezon City Reception House, from 9am to 10:30am.

“Neither Duterte or Robredo camps have confirmed if the country’s two top officials would meet after their inauguration,” the report added.
