This is a good thing, but in light of the Mamasapano horrors we can’t seem to find the strength to leap with joy over it yet.

“President Noynoy Aquino has signed into law a bill seeking a higher tax exemption ceiling for bonuses of workers in the private and public sectors,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

The report noted: “The measure seeks to raise the tax cap for the 13th month pay and other bonuses of employees to PHP82,000 from the current PHP30,000.”

The report indicated, though, that “Bureau of Internal Revenue Commissioner (BIR) Kim Henares, meanwhile, maintained that the government stands to lose billions in revenue because of the higher tax exemption.”
