One group has had enough of them.
“Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) founding chairman Dante Jimenez reiterated his call to President Benigno Aquino III to sack Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
Jimenez said in a dzMM interview, “There is nothing personal here…Let us protect the institutions. There are a lot of people out there who can focus on strategies meant to protect and benefit our people from crimes. As government officials, they should not be reactionaries. They should be proactive.”
Jimenez went on to say, “These are leaders in charge of peace and order. Who are we supposed to boot out? We can’t just remove the president… We are paying our taxes. If we really are his bosses, he should listen to us.”
The VACC has been pushing for the revival of the death penalty in the country, which was removed in 2006.
