If you were at the Land Transportation Office (LTO in Tayuman, Manila at the right time, you may have run into President Noynoy Aquino.
“Just in time for his 54th birthday on February 8, Aquino on Thursday, Feb 6, went to LTO Tayuman to have his driver’s license renewed,” reports the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
Aquino was accompanied by Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya and newly promoted PCOO Undersecretary Renato Marfil.
Aquino’s LTO outing, notes GMA News Online, comes a day after “Malacañang thumbed down the possibility of Aquino riding the Metro and Light Rail Transits anytime soon.”
It may be recalled that at a press briefing Wednesday, Feb 5, PCOO head Sonny Coloma said Aquino “does not need to ride the train to know the problems of commuters.”
We beg to differ, Sir. (But, happy birthday, anyway, Mr. President.)
