President Noynoy Aquino may not have kids of his own, but he’s sure been dishing out some “fatherly” advice to boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, who lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. via unanimous decision in their May 2 fight in Las Vegas.
“In an interview with Bombo Radyo aired Thursday, May 14, Aquino said it is time for Manny Pacquiao to focus on his family and his health, stressing that he has already done great honor for the country,” reports Madel Sabater-Namit in Manila Bulletin.
The President stated, “Manny Pacquiao has given great honor for our country and of course, in his every fight, there is a potential that he would have an injury for life. If we are asked about the honor given by Manny Pacquiao to our country, the sacrifices he did for our country, I think he has already done well on the boxing field.”
Aquino added, “People should tell him not to risk his health and that the people are willing to help him take care of his life and his future for his wife and children.”
