He’s taking on a tough post.
“President Noynoy Aquino has named Lieutenant General Gregorio Pio Catapang as new chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),” reports Manila Standard Today.
Catapang will replace General Emmanuel Bautista, who will retire on July 20.
The report noted: “Last May, Catapang was appointed as AFP vice chief-of-staff. Prior to that, he served as commander of the North Luzon Command and the 7th Infantry Division.”
As it turns out, Bautista and Catapang are members of the Philippine Military Academy “Dimalupig” Class of 1981.
