For current president Noynoy Aquino and presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte, all’s well that ends well.
Aquino has reached out to Duterte to congratulate him for his victory. Duterte’s aide in Davao confirmed the news on Tuesday, May 10, ABS-CBN reports.
They need to work together for the convening of transition teams to pave the way for Duterte’s assumption of office.
Aquino is expected to soon issue an executive order creating Malacanang’s transition team.
Duterte’s executive assistant, Christopher Bong Go, said that the mayor is now resting in an undisclosed place in Davao as the 90-day campaign period left him exhausted. Go couldn’t say when the mayor would be ready to make public appearances.
