PNoy drives from Baguio to Manila in borrowed sports car

President Noynoy Aquino went up to Baguio City on Dec 31 in a Nissan GT-R. Palace officials said that Aquino had borrowed the vehicle, but they did not provide the car owner’s name.

In any case, Aquino also used the car to drive back to Manila. He left The Mansion, the official presidential residence in Baguio City, at around 7:30am on Sun, Jan 3, 2016.

“Seated behind the wheel of a red Nissan GT-R or grand touring racing coupe, with the driver’s window rolled down, the President sped toward Marcos Highway. Several witnesses at a gasoline station near the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center said a red car and a couple of black sport utility vehicles trailing behind passed by the area,” reports Artemio Dumlao in The Philippine Star.

The report noted: “Nissan launched the GT-R in 2007. Its website listed the US prices of the 2016 edition at a range of USD$101,770 (around PHP4,797,386.92) to USD$149,990 (around PHP7,070,453.60).”

During his time in Baguio, the President was spotted at the Baguio Country Club. He also hosted a dinner for top defense and military officials led by Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin at The Mansion House.
