So, she got the job.

“President Benigno Aquino III has appointed Janette Garin as Secretary of the Department of Health (DOH),” reports ANC.

The report noted: “Garin’s nomination, signed by the President, has been sent to the Commission on Appointments, which will then schedule confirmation hearings.”

Garin stepped in as acting health secretary in Nov 2014, after then DOH Secretary Dr. Enrique Ona “went on leave amid an investigation into the DOH’s allegedly anomalous purchase of anti-pneumonia vaccines and a controversial anti-dengue treatment that he approved.”

Eventually, the 75-year-old Ona resigned in Dec 2014. Reports say that he felt “his relationship with the President was already broken due to the allegations against him.”
