Uh-oh, someone doesn’t like it when Ruby is compared to Typhoon Yolanda.

“Speaking at the Bulong Pulungan Friday morning, President Noynoy Aquino appealed for responsible reporting as Typhoon Ruby approaches the country,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

Aquino said he was alarmed when he saw a newspaper headline that compared Ruby with Typhoon Yolanda.

The report noted: “The President said he consulted with Department of Science and Technology (DOST) officials, who reportedly said that ‘there is no indication that Ruby would be as strong as Yolanda.'”

“We must do our utmost, leave nothing to chance, improve where we can, and match what we have done so well in the past. Today, it is my hope that from your pens will come the responsible, sober writing that will have fostered the confidence we need as we weather this challenge again as a people,” he said.

Then again, the comparison to Yolanda was brought on by the fact that, at one point, Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit) also had winds at 315 kph just like Yolanda did.”

In any case, this goes to show that the President reads Philippine Daily Inquirer (see below)…or whatever other newspaper that compared Ruby to Yolanda.
