He may  have harmed more people.

“On Monday, May 18, a UK court found Filipino nurse Victorino Chua, 49, guilty of  murdering two of his patients and poisoning about 20 others during what police called a reign of terror at a hospital in northern England,” reports Reuters.

Chua had murdered two of his patients and endangered others by contaminating saline drips and ampules with insulin at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport back in 2011. Chua later administered the contaminated drugs to the patients under his care.

Chua also altered patients’ medical notes to increase their dosage of drugs.

The report noted: “The insulin caused those affected to suffer hypoglycaemia, or a dangerous drop in blood sugar levels. Two died, while a third with a serious brain injury.”

Chua was first arrested in 2012. He then got out on bail and was arrested again in 2014.

One of the documents presented in court to show that Chua was mentally unstable was a 13-page letter that he wrote in 2010. At that time he was being treated for depression. A counselor had told him to use it  “to provide an outlet for his anger and frustration.”

On of the statements that stood out in Chua’s letter was this (unedited): “They thought I’m a nice person but there a devil in me. Not to mention it. Not nice + very embarrassing. To carry on with my work sometimes I’m taking med over the limit bit still very careful with my job don’t want to loss my license as a nurse and this is my life.”
