“The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)  has lauded the ‘pink jeepneys’ initiative of several public utility jeepneys (PUJs) plying the Pateros-Guadalupe route,” reports Dennis Carcamo on Philstar.com.

The report noted: “The project — which is being launched on Valentine’s Day by the Guadalupe-Pateros Jeepney and Operators’ Association (GUACEMPAJODA) — will initially have 14 PUJs on its line-up to provide transport to the three sectors who often find it difficult to commute from Pateros to Guadalupe during rush hour, which are women, children, and persons with disabilities (PWDs).”

As such, the PUJs painted in pink and with drivers wearing pink uniform, will offer public transport service from 6am to 9am and from 4pm to 7pm.

Working with the theme, “Para sa Interes Ng Kababaihan, Kabataan at may Kapansanan,” the initiative was formally launched at the Pateros Town Plaza.
