Pardon us for being skeptical, but politicians are notorious for “changing their minds.”
“In a press conference in Baguio City on Friday, April 24, former Senator Ping Lacson announced that he is running as an independent candidate for President in the May 2016 National Elections,” reports Philippine News Agency in Manila Bulletin.
Lacson was quoted as saying, “My platform of government remains to be what I started as a Senator and that is to eradicate graft and corruption in the government.”
The report noted: “Lacson pointed out that he had initiated the removal of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) stating that he may not have known its general effect but he knows that it will solicit graft and corrupt practices.”
Lacson added “that there are still some ways of eradicating graft and corruption which he may be able to introduce.”
