Isn’t this kind of expensive since he’s not even staying there for 24 hours?
“The government spent around P8.8 million for President Noynoy Aquino’s one-day working visit to Japan on Tuesday, June 23,” reports JC Bello Ruiz in Manila Bulletin.
However, the amount may be explained by the fact that Aquino had a delegation of 41 people.
The report noted: “The President left for Tokyo via a chartered flight accompanied by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda, Presidential Management Staff Chief Julia Andrea Abad, and Presidential Protocol Chief Celia Anna Feria.”
PNoy and his posse are expected to be back in Manila at 10:50pm on the same day.
