Dear Post Office, if this stamp becomes a bestseller, will you promise not to tax us the next time our friends from abroad send us gifts or magazines?
“The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) recently printed 90,000 special Pope Francis Year II stamps, which sells at PHP40 each,” reports ANC.
The report said that the Vatican Postal Administration has also produced stamps bearing the same design. Postmaster General Josie Dela Cruz is reportedly “hoping to present the stamps to the Holy See during PHLPost’s scheduled marketing campaign in Rome on April.”
Meanwhile, the relics of Pope John Paul II will be touring the Philippines from April to June 2014. Let’s hope the Vatican doesn’t send those through the Post Office so it reaches us on time. (See tour schedule here.)
PS. When was the last time you sent snail mail? Tell us below.
