The Philippines is no longer the most emotional country in the world

It’s one step down from the previous year, when we topped the poll, but second place sure means something to highly emotional peeps like us.

Besides, we’re the only Southeast Asian country in the top three, dominated by Latin Americans.

In any case, Bolivia and El Salvador topped the poll, which was conducted by Gallup, a performance-management consulting company. Philippines tied with four other countries — Ecuador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Iraq — in second spot.

Time.com notes that along with Cambodia and Iraq, we’re the only non-Latin American countries in the top 10.

Gallup surveyed 148 countries in 2014, asking people if they experienced any of five positive and five negative emotions. The ranking is based on the average number of ‘yes’ responses.

Bolivia and El Salvador both got 59% of yes responses. Philippines got 58%.
