Philippine Village Hotel ordered to vacate Nayong Pilipino Grounds

The Philippine Village Hotel, Inc. (PVHI) has been ordered by the Court of Appeals to vacate the premises of the Nayong Pilipino in Pasay City.

The decision also denied the request of PVHI for a temporary restraining order. The PVHI was originally built in 1974, and in recent years has fallen to hard times. In 1997, the PVHI signed a 25 year lease contract extension with the former Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF).

According to the Journal, it failed to pay rent starting January 2001 and closed down in May of the same year.

The CA decision also ordered the PVHI management to pay arrearages of P26 million to the NPF.
