Philippine National Police runs out of choppers

This is a little embarrasing. The Philippine National Police has run out of helicopters after its last one crashed in Kalinga province on Wednesday.

According to reports, the helicopter, an RJ 44 Raven, developed engine problems on the way to Kalinga for a marijuana eradication operation.

The pilot was forced to crash-land the chopper on Mt. Bitulayungan in that province. Three policemen were hurt in the crash and were brought to Tabuk City.

The wrecked chopper, which was used to bring poll materials to remote areas in Abra province during the May elections, will be transported to a nearby police station by carabao.
