Perhaps taking cues from Philippine National Police Director General Alan Purisima, who joined Twitter in July, two more PNP units have set up their own accounts.
The Central Market Police Station (Police Station 3) of Manila Police District has its own account, announcing it is “ready to SERVE and PROTECT!” MPD Police Station 3 (@ps3mpdreact) is attached to the National Capital Region Police Office, which also has a Twitter account.
The PNP Anti-CyberCrime Group now also has a Twitter account, although it has yet to say anything to its 16 followers. The PNP Public Information Office, with more than 12,000 followers, has been around longer.

The Twitter accounts of PNP chief Purisima and of the NCRPO have responded to complaints and mentions from Twitter users, usually promising to refer the issue to the local chief of police.
That means police assistance can be just a tweet away. That also means, though, that there are cops paid to be on Twitter all day.
