PH team paddled to victory in int’l dragon boat meet in China

Here’s a golden moment for Filipino paddlers.

The Philippine Navy Dragon Boat Team was named overall champ at the 2016 Ordos International Nadam Dragon boat tournament held in Inner Mongolia, China, from Aug 21 to 26.

The crew, composed of 22 Navy members and two civilians, won first place in four categories: the 300-meter full race, 500-meter full race, 500-meter mix race, and the 3,000-meter full race, reports GMA News.

The Philippine team came in second place in the 300-meter mix race, and third in the 3,000-meter mix race.

More than 12 countries participated in the five-day event, including Czech Republic, Hungary, Russia, USA, and Canada.

The Philippine embassy in China hosted a lunch for the winning team last Saturday in Beijing to recognize their victory.

Congratulations, guys!
