PH-based school micromanages parents at drop-off with detailed signs

This school in Metro Manila has had enough of parents holding up its drop-off area.

Yesterday, Ira Cruz tweeted a photo of the drop-off point at Saint Pedro Poveda College, a private all-girls’ school in Quezon City his daughter attends. Unlike other school drop-offs, this one was a little too detailed with its instructions.

In the school’s signature black and yellow colors, four signs were installed with the following captions:

  • Wake up CHILD
  • Kiss mommy/daddy good-bye (sic)
  • Get Stuff
  • Get Off

Now that’s what you call micromanaging.

In a message to Coconuts Manila, Cruz said that the signs were put up in time for the first day of school last week but he only took the photo on Monday.

“Obviously we found it so funny because it was so exacting! Literally, step-by-step what to do in the car as you drop off your kid,” he said. “But we totally get it – the morning (and afternoon) drama must have had Poveda officials pulling every hat trick they can get their hands on to move traffic smoothly (or at all).”

Poveda is located in the always-congested Ortigas business district and is located along Manila’s main highway, EDSA.

Many could also relate to Cruz’s tweet because heavy traffic is common in other schools Manila.

The photo was shared by Cruz’s friend, Twitter user @foxrots and has gotten more than 2,000 retweets and close to 18,000 likes as of posting time.

“GUYS THIS IS SO FUNNY. POVEDA IS SO SICK AND TIRED OF UR SHIT CAUSING TRAFFIC AT THE DRIVEWAY SO THEY LABELLED THE STOPS ON WHAT YOU SHOULD DO BY THEN IM DYING,” she said.

Some commenters said that they too have noticed the signs.

“POVEDA IS TRIGGERDT,” user @cyleslifecycles said.

@MaeJennius suggested that La Salle Greenhills, another school in the area, should do the same thing.
