In its report, “On Dangerous Ground,” Global Witness — an international organization that works to expose the links between human rights violations and other social ills to the exploitation of natural resources — listed the most dangerous countries for environmental activists.
“The Philippines ranked as the second most murderous country for environmental activists in 2015, next to Brazil,” reports InterAksyon.com.
Below is the full list of the must murderous countries for environmental activists:
1. Brazil – 50 deaths
2. Philippines – 33 deaths
3. Colombia – 26 deaths
4. Peru – 12 deaths
5. Nicaragua – 12 deaths
6. Democratic Republic of Congo – 11 deaths
7. Guatemala – 10 deaths
8. Honduras – 8 deaths
9. India – 6 deaths
10. Mexico – 4 deaths
11. Indonesia – 3 deaths
12. Libera – 2 deaths
13. Myanmar – 2 seaths
14. Cambodia – 2 deaths
15. Thailand – 2 deaths
16. Pakistan – 1 death
