Heck, with a relative like this, the President doesn’t need any more enemies.

“In an interview on ABS-CBN News’ late night show Bandila on Tuesday, February 24, Peping Cojuangco —  a former congressman and brother of the President Noynoy Aquino’s late mother Cory — stated that he regrets supporting the presidential campaign of his nephew in 2010,” reports Jojo Malig on ABS-CBNnews.com.

In the “Yes or No” portion of the show, Cojuangco was asked if he regrets supporting Aquino in 2010, he answered, “Yes.”

Cojuangco, the father of Mikee Cojuangco, is the current president of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC).

The report noted: “Cojuangco, a former congressman and brother of the President’s late mother Cory, denied that he is angry at Aquino just because he was not given a juicy post in his administration.”

He said, “Why would I be bitter? I have my own things to do. I have a lot of things to do. My life doesn’t revolve around politics.”

Cojuangco admitted that he is a long-time ally of opposition leader and current Vice President Jejomar Binay. “I don’t know exactly when I became a critic of Aquino. I’m for Binay [in 2016],” he declared.

Cojuangco likewise explained that he blamed Aquino’s advisers for their situation. He said, “I don’t like the people who whisper things to him.”

The report also indicated that “Cojuangco said he doesn’t want another People Power uprising, but the government should instead institute reforms, particularly electoral.” However, he wasn’t able to elaborate on the matter.
